Inspired by his two children who fight seizures, Chicagoan John McShea is cycling 550 miles around Lake Michigan to protect people with epilepsy.

DETAILS: A few years back, Chicagoan John McShea cycled solo and self-supported around the southern half of Lake Michigan. For him, it was a combination of escaping Covid and seeing Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin from the vantage point of a bike seat. This September, John plans on "finishing the loop", starting in Ludington, Mi through Charlevoix and Mackinac, across the UP of Michigan and down the Wisconsin coast, approximately 550 miles. He will be shooting for 7-8 days for this given the weather, wind, and peculiarities around Mackinac. His ride will cover 550 miles, so he set my fundraising goal at $5,500. If he reaches his goal, DDF will be able to purchase 11 seizure detection devices for families in need!
