Advancing Awareness of Epilepsy & Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP)

Knowledge Is The
Antidote For Fear

Get Involved

Danny Did love to get into the mix of things. Wherever you live across the U.S.A., we’d welcome and enjoy your involvement with the Danny Did Foundation. Below are some ways that you can help. Pick one that fits for you - or come up with your own - and then reach out to us at mduffy@dannydid.org!

Join the DDF e-Newsletter.

Sign up for our monthly e-newsletter here so you can stay in tune with our news and happenings, events and campaigns, and the people and groups that we help and partner with.

Make a Tax Deductible Donation.

You can donate online or by mail to support our mission to prevent deaths caused by seizures. Your financial support will enable us to elevate awareness and understanding, advance research, impact public policy, and most importantly, assist families in need with education and seizure monitoring devices.

Assist Danny Did’s Outreach to Doctors.

The Danny Did Foundation will send you a package that includes Seizure Safety/SUDEP Info brochures, Danny Did Foundation pamphlets, and a letter of introduction to the DDF. You provide this package to your doctors and then provide the DDF with contact information for the doctors. We then follow up with the doctors to pursue a relationship that furthers SUDEP awareness. Click here to let us know.

Medical Professionals: Help Us Talk About SUDEP.

Studies show that patients and their families want to hear about SUDEP. Lets discuss placement of Danny Did Foundation printed materials in your hospital, emergency room, or doctor’s office. We can provide free materials that talk about epilepsy and sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP) in a responsible way, within the context of all the risks that accompany epilepsy. Having the SUDEP conversation builds doctor-patient trust and an open dialogue, which fosters better care.

Join #TeamDannyDid.

Running a race or involved in a competition? You can do it as part of Team Danny Did! We offer your own personal online fundraising page and a Team Danny tech shirt when you become a part of Team Danny Did. Wherever you live, wherever the competition takes place, you can represent Team Danny Did and spread epilepsy awareness!

Volunteer at a DDF Event.

We are always looking for new volunteers to help our cause. If you’d like to be a Danny Did volunteer, email your name and phone number to mduffy@dannydid.org, along with a note describing how you prefer to volunteer, or just contact us here. To see what’s coming up on our calendar, view our list of events.

Organize and Host your Own Fund Raising Event.

A cocktail party at your home for friends? Or maybe a summer barbeque, a Tupperware or a Bake For Danny bake sale. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination. Email Mary Duffy at mduffy@dannydid.org with your idea!

Sponsor a Danny Did Event.

An event sponsorship a great way to align your business with supporting kids, health and wellness, and grass roots advocacy.  Our special events calendar is always growing and with something around the corner. Contact tfstanton@dannydid.org to learn more about the options.

Employee Matching Plan.

Many companies will match an employee’s charity contribution, sometimes doubling or even tripling your tax-deductible donation to the Danny Did Foundation. Contact your Human Resources department for more information. If you have a company match, email mduffy@dannydid.org to let us know!

Coordinate an Epilepsy and Seizure Safety Presentation at Your School.

Teaching kids about epilepsy, seizure safety and inclusion is the best way to develop a next generation that doesn't hold on to the stigma and isolation that too often accompanies epilepsy.  We can help to develop an educational presentation at your school that advances both awareness of epilepsy and understanding about what to do if you witness a seizure. If you know an elementary or high school that is interested, contact tfstanton@dannydid.org.

Shop on AmazonSmile to Benefit Danny Did.

AmazonSmile is an easy way to support Danny Did during the holiday shopping season or anytime during the year. When you shop through AmazonSmile at https://smile.amazon.com/, Amazon donates 0.5% of the price of your purchases to the Danny Did Foundation when you select Danny Did Foundation as your partner charity. AmazonSmile is the same Amazon you know, with the same products and the same prices. No added cost to you - just a few clicks.

Corporate Partnerships.

Partner with the Danny Did Foundation to meet the philanthropic, marketing, sponsorship and/or employee interests of your company. Even if you are not a business owner, you can assist by asking your employer if they’re willing to supply volunteers, services or funds to help further epilepsy awareness.

Memorials and Tributes.

Honor someone special with a tribute, remember a lost loved one with a memorial, or celebrate a birthday, graduation, or wedding by contributing to the Danny Did Foundation.

A Gift by Will/Mention in Obituary.

Talk with your estate planning attorney about how Danny Did Foundation can be included in your will or estate plan.

Auction Items.

Do you have tickets, artwork, memorabilia, professional services or a gift certificate to donate? Auction items are always accepted and appreciated year round! Please contact Tom Stanton at tfstanton@dannydid.org.

Apply for a Danny Did Internship.

We partner with college internships to grow our cause. Our interns learn a wide range of skills and gain hands on experience. If you're interested to apply, email your resume and cover letter to mduffy@dannydid.org.

Lead a “fan raising” Social Media Campaign for our Danny Did Facebook page.

If you can get groups of people from your school, workplace or town to ‘Like’ our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/DannyDid), or to follow us on Twitter (@DannyDidOrg), you are helping our awareness in a big way.

Plan a Danny Did kickball Tournament!

Inside a gym or outside in a park. Big or small. Include bells and whistles or just get a group together and play. A fun way to spend a day and raise funds for our cause.

Create a Danny Did Birthday Campaign.

In lieu of presents and party, ask friends to donate their age in money to the Danny Did Foundation. We can provide an online page to collect your donations. Experience adds up!

Share the Seizure Safety Quiz!

Spread awareness and understanding about seizures and epilepsy by sharing a Seizure Safety Quiz with your school or youth group. Click here to find the quiz and the details on submitting your answers to our Kids’ Ambassador – Danny’s sister Mary Grace – and she’ll send you back your graded results!

Parents, families and volunteers are critical to our cause. Please be in touch and let us know that you are ready to get involved and make a difference for people who face epilepsy. We encourage your creativity! If you have questions or ideas to run past us, contact Mary Duffy at mduffy@dannydid.org. And remember: Danny Did, And You Can Too!
