DETAILS: Due to COVID-19, the 8th Annual Epilepsy Awareness Day Expo at Disneyland Resort will take place virtually on November 2nd and 3rd. Patients, caregivers and their families are invited to attend this free educational event. Epilepsy Awareness Day at Disneyland was founded by parents Brad and Candy Levy as a tribute to their 19 year-old daughter Sofie, who is now 9 years seizure free. The family now runs a nonprofit called Sofie's Journey.
More than 3,000 supporters attended last year. Though we will miss the chance to be together in person, this virtual event eliminates the challenge of travel and offers so many more the chance to take part. Danny Did is excited to be a partner to this event.
EVENT EXPO: The free, virtual EXPO will take place on:
- Monday November 2nd: 10 am - 5 pm
- Tuesday November 3rd: 8 am - 4 pm
The EXPO will feature over 50 non-profit Epilepsy support groups, hospitals with Epilepsy programs and vendors who service the Epilepsy community. The goal for the EXPO is to give the Epilepsy community a chance to to network with other families who share similar conditions, learn about new treatments and products, and create long term relationships with other families affected by epilepsy.
DDF TRAVEL ASSISTANCE GRANTS: With no in person event this year, we encourage families to apply for travel grants for the 2021 event.
