April – June, 2013: Danny’s Girls Training & 5K Race (Chicago area)
Danny’s Girls is a chance for girls and women to merge fitness with fundraising to support families facing epilepsy. This program features a 9-week Thursday night training program beginning on April 4th, followed by a culminating 5K race on Saturday June 8th. June 1, 2013: 4th Annual Evening of Hearts & Hugs (Chicago)
The Danny Did Foundation’s 4th Annual Evening of Hearts & Hugs fundraising event to benefit our mission to prevent deaths caused by seizures takes place on Saturday June 1, 2013, at The Jean Marie Ryan Center on the campus of Misericordia (6300 N. Ridge, Chicago). Join us for delicious small plates, beer, wine, and specialty drinks, live music, raffles, auctions and more. Please visit www.events.org/dannydid to register online. Tickets are $90 in advance, $100 at the door, and $55 for young adults age 30 and under. We’ll be proud to honor third grader Nick Curley as our Youth Advocate of the Year, and Solution Marketing Services as our Corporate Partner of the Year. The evening will feature a “Group Giving” special appeal to fund seizure detection monitors for families in need. We are also excited to have actor, writer and Chicago-native Mick Betancourt as our emcee for the evening. Epilepsy will impact 1 in 26 Americans over the course of their lifetime.

June 8, 2013: Dallas Daniels Epilepsy & SUDEP Awareness 5K (West Virginia)
This 5K run/walk is held in memory of Dallas Daniels and Kendra Bailey, who were lost to epilepsy. Hosted by Dallas’s parents and Danny Did Ambassadors Mylissa and Jeff Daniels, the 5K takes place Saturday June 8th at Sam Michael’s Park in Shenandoah Junction, WV. Children are welcome to take part in a one-mile fun run and family-friendly activities after the race. Click here for directions and registration details. June 23, 2013: 4th Annual Buzz Cuts & Purple Hair For Danny (Chicago)
The 4th Annual Buzz Cuts & Purple Hair Extensions event takes place on Sunday June 23rd at Do or Die Hair Salon, located at 6005 N. Nina Avenue in Chicago’s Norwood Park neighborhood. Stop by with kids, cousins and friends anytime between 10 am and 2 pm, no reservations are required. Buzz cuts for boys and men and purple hair extensions for girls and women will be free with a donation to the Danny Did Foundation. July 14, 2013: 4th Annual Danny Stanton Kickball Tournament (Chicago)
The 4th Annual Danny Stanton Kickball tournament is for kids entering into grades K-9 and takes place on Sunday July 14th at Danny Stanton Field at Edgebrook Park in Chicago. July 22, 2013: Bernie’s Tap & Grill Golf Outing for Danny Did (Chicago)
The Dillman family has owned and operated Bernie’s Tap & Grill across from Wrigley Field for three generations and have supported Danny’s foundation since we began. The Nil Tap’s 5th Annual “One Club” Golf Outing is a 9-hole event that takes place on Saturday August 3r at Edgebrook Golf Course in Chicago and is followed by a family-friendly block party outside The Nil Tap (5734 N Elston), replete with live music, raffle prizes and dynamite BBQ. August 9, 2013: “Fore” Ever Loved Charity Golf Outing (Lemont, IL)
The inaugural event is in memory of Ava Reyna, who died in 2012 as a result of her epilepsy, and her father Carlos, who died the same year from cancer. The day begins with a cookout lunch at noon, followed by 18 holes of golf with a 1:30 pm shotgun start, culminating with dinner and awards at 6:30 pm. The outing takes place at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club, ranked as one of America’s Top 100 courses. Tickets are $75 but with a special $65 online price. For more details and to register, click here. August 18, 2013: 5th Annual Socks & Sandals Golf Outing (Twin Cities, MN)
The 5th Annual Socks & Sandals Golf Outing honors the life of Jake Knapp, who died from SUDEP in March 2009 while attending college in Chicago. He’s remembered for his laughter and joy and many friendships, and he always wore socks with his sandals. As our Danny Did Ambassadors in Minnesota, the Knapp family is working hard to raise awareness and funds for SUDEP. Stay tuned for registration details. Thank you to the Knapp family!
October 13, 2013: Team Danny Did in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon
The Danny Did Foundation is proud to be an official charity affiliate of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon for the third consecutive year. Marathon race registration is now sold out. November 7, 2013: Epilepsy Awareness Day at Disneyland (Anaheim, CA)
The Danny Did Foundation is proud to be a partner of this collaborative effort to raise awareness and funds during November Epilepsy Awareness Month. This will be the first ever official day at Disneyland Resort honoring any group impacted by a medical condition. The family fun day at the “happiest place on earth” will be all about celebrating the strength and unity of the epilepsy community. Attendees can buy tickets at www.epilepsyawarenessday.org, and designate part of the ticket price to support the Danny Did Foundation. Tickets include an official event day purple shirt and swag bag, each with special Disney artwork. The outing is hosted by the Epilepsy Foundation, the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Los Angeles and the Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County.
