The Danny Did Foundation is an Illinois not-for-profit corporation recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service code. Accordingly, contributions to the Danny Did Foundation in the United States are tax-exempt to the extent provided by law.

The Danny Did Foundation’s goals are twofold: 1) raising awareness of Sudden Unexplained Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) and strengthening the communication model regarding SUDEP between medical professionals and the families and loved ones of those afflicted by seizures, and (2) the mainstreaming of medical devices for home-use that serve as alarm systems for seizure activity. To achieve these goals, the Danny Did Foundation needs to be recognized as a force. To be a force, the DDF must be on the radar screen of doctors, medical technology companies, epilepsy organizations, and —most importantly— the general public.  Accordingly, much of the money we receive will be spent on getting the Danny Did Foundation’s name out into the world. This is done through marketing and promotion. This is done via tee-shirts, bracelets, buttons, sponsorships, advertisements, etc. All of which costs money.

The Danny Did Foundation is committed to using funds to achieve our mission in the most meaningful ways possible. Our intentions for spending include:

  1. SUDEP awareness and outreach in the form of educational materials and presentations
  2. Sponsorship/participation at conferences, expos, and other events that promote epilepsy/SUDEP
  3. Researching emerging technologies that offer seizure-detection and seizure-alarm devices
  4. Assisting developers of the most promising seizure-detection/alarm devices with funding, exposure to neurologists, and the FDA approval process
  5. Assistance in providing seizure detection monitors to those who cannot afford them
  6. Creating films that highlight in an engaging manner the issues and facts of epilepsy and SUDEP

We see no end to what the Danny Did Foundation can accomplish. We need you to help us accomplish this. Thanks for your support.
